FirstBank Employee Event
FirstBank is one of Puerto Rico's leading financial institutions offering a full range of financial services to individual, commercial, and corporate customers through its more than 170 financial facilities in Puerto Rico, the US mainland, and the US and British Virgin Islands.
This particular event was for 3,000+ employes at the Puerto Rico Convention Center.
I was responsible for coming up with the concept, staging design, logistics, and audio-visuals based on a theme FirstBank established called "The Experience of Being One."
My solution was to have employees participate in a simulation of a live broadcast for a fake TV station called "UNO TV."
Special Events Design And Coordination
Special Event coordination and design should engage participants from the moment they get their invitation all the way to the grand finale... And, ideally, remain in their memories for a long time afterwards.
Here are some of the most memorable events I created from concept through execution.
"TV STATION" LOGO DESIGN based on client's required triangular concept.
STAGING DESIGN reflecting the triangle motiff.
Outer catwalk was transparent, bottom lit plexiglass.
Back wall was white plexiglass with wireless, backlit, 3D structures.
3D Render of the proposed concept. Note the crew/tech area is in front of stage in full view to support the TV station concept.
SCALE PLAN OF MY STAGING DESIGN WITH MY PROPOSED SEATING ARRANGEMENT
CONVENTION CENTER SCALED SEATING PLAN
I was pleasantly surprised to find that my plans fit almost exactly the actual PR Convention Center's computer software for establishing seating arrangements.
DirecTV Sales Event
DirecTV in Puerto Rico held this sales event to encourage advertisers to buy TV spots in their system as an alternative to purchasing through each broadcast or premium channels separately.
In this event DirecTV presented their channel lineup and original programming via their own channel.
I was asked to integrate the concept of "360" in the design.
I came up with the idea a futuristic spaceship flight. Invitees were sent flight tickets and asked to RSVP to a specific Website for their "boarding passes."
At the event site, we had "airport" boarding information displays with sound effects, models dressed as flight attendants, and the opening of the event featured sound recordings with pre-flight instructions and the roar of rocket engines!
It was a ... trip! (Sorry, couldn't help it.)
ARTIST'S RENDERING OF MY ORIGINAL DESIGN CONCEPT
FINAL EXECUTION OF MY ORIGINAL DESIGN
"360" CONCEPT TRANSLATED TO CIRCULAR TRUSS CEILING
THE BLACK DRAPE DESIGN TAPERED AT THE FRONT OF THE ROOM CREATING THE SHAPE OF A SPACE SHIP.
